Adaptive RFID Privacy Statement

At Adaptive RFID, we respect and protect the privacy of those who visit or our Web sites or use our Adaptive RFID hosted solutions. We want you to understand the information we collect and how it is used. We value your trust, and understand we must continue to earn it every day.

This privacy statement defines privacy aspects specific to Adaptive RFID Web servers. It serves as an adjunct to the Adaptive RFID Online Privacy Policy, which represents our general privacy philosophy and governs all of our Web sites.

Our Philosophy and Practices

At Adaptive RFID, we want you to feel comfortable and confident when using both our products and Web site. Therefore, we would like to share with you the following principles that govern our information practices and other privacy aspects of our products and Web sites:

In all cases where identifiable information is gathered, we will either provide a means by which you may opt out, or explain why this information is required in order to provide the service(s) requested.

We provide you notice of our information practices.

To maximize the value of our services, we may request information from you when you visit our Web sites or register our products. When we collect information from you, we'll tell you what is being collected, by whom it is being collected, to whom it may be disclosed, and how it will be used. We identify the information that is necessary to fulfill your request. Whenever we ask for additional or optional information, we identify those fields appropriately so that you know what is required to provide the requested service.

Whenever you register a product or service, we request certain personally identifiable information, including your name, address, phone number, e-mail address and company name. We do not share your contact information with outside companies for their promotional use. We may, however, use this information to notify you about upcoming product upgrades and about special offers available to registered users.

Here is a description of the information we collect and how it is used: (need a rundown of what Shipit collects). Or can we just reference the SLA/Contract docs the users have signed?

We tell you how and why we use Web technologies

Here is how and why we use some common technologies to help manage our Web site:

Cookies.

Cookies are small files stored by your browser at the request of a given web site. They contain only a tiny amount of information, and are typically used to maintain state and session information. Cookies typically include only a unique identifier (a long number) that a site then associates with user records at the server (e.g., in order to remember special site settings, preferences, etc.).

While the Adaptive RFID web site does not currently use cookies, we anticipate adding features and functions in the near future that will require cookies in order to function correctly (for example, message boards for support, or custom client logins). Depending on the features developed, we may require additional cookies to track and support different areas of the site.

If you simply want to browse, you do not have to accept cookies from our site, although choosing not to accept cookies will eventually limit your ability to use certain areas of the Web site. Should you decide, however, that you would like to request a service and you have modified your browser settings not to accept cookies, you will need to re-set your browser to accept the cookies that we send. Most browsers are defaulted to accept and maintain cookies; consult your browser's help files for more information on the cookie options available to you.

Web Site and Adaptive RFID Server Usage Data.

Our Web site tracks usage data, including, for example, your IP address, your browser type and version, which pages you view, which page, if any, linked you to our site, and which link, if any, you follow off of our site. We use this data in the aggregate to better understand Web site and product activity to improve our offerings.

Eventually, if you choose to register with our site, we may also use this data to provide you a more personalized Web site experience, assistance with technical support questions, and to send you special offers, product and service updates, or other promotional materials that are relevant and tailored to your interests. If you do not wish to receive these offers or promotions, simply indicate your contact preferences during the registration process or (later) by changing your communication preferences by visiting the appropriate preferences page on the site.

We do not share your information with outside companies for their promotional use. We do not (nor could we) track URLs that you type into your browser, nor do we track you across the Internet once you leave our site.

More on our general information practices:

Mandatory and Optional Information.

We identify what information is necessary to fulfill your request. If you choose not to provide mandatory information, we will not be able to provide the service you are requesting. This is true of both our Web site as well as our hosted solutions, but in both cases we will be clear about information requirements.

Adaptive RFID Partners and Co-branded or Third-Party Sites.

Some of the products and services we offer are provided by Adaptive RFID's business partners. To fulfill your request for such services, we will forward your customer information to our partner, as necessary. When offering partner services on an Adaptive RFID or a co-branded site, the partner who will be receiving the information will be clearly identified.

We may also enter into "joint marketing" relationships with carefully selected partners who offer products or services that may be of interest to you. When we do, they are prohibited from using any of your personal information for anything outside the joint venture, unless you choose to give them your information or become their customer. Our contracts with them protect the confidentiality of the limited information we share with them.

Adaptive RFID and its Subsidiaries.

Adaptive RFID and its subsidiaries may exchange customer data with each other to fulfill your request or to provide you with information about other products and services.

Service Providers.

In some cases, we will use or work with service providers such as consultants, temporary workers, third party software developers, or outsourcers to complete a business process or provide a service on our behalf. For example, we may use service providers to deliver products, offer online software applications, or send emails. When we use service providers, we may need to share your personally identifiable information. Service providers are strictly prohibited from using your personally identifiable information for purposes other than to act on our behalf.

Service Alerts and Critical Notices.

Although we respect and honor the privacy preferences you have expressed, we may nevertheless contact you to inform you of specific changes that may impact your ability to use this service or for other critical non-marketing purposes, such as bug alerts. We may also contact you to respond to your specific requests or to clarify the order information you provided to us.

Contests, Sweepstakes and Surveys.

From time to time, we may offer you the option to participate in contests, sweepstakes, or surveys. If you would like to participate, we may ask you for contact information, preferences, or other information. This information may be used to conduct research, improve our offerings, or award prizes. Our contest or sweepstakes may have separate rules and we will identify how the information that you supply will be used in each case.

Newsletters.

We provide you the opportunity to subscribe to email newsletters and other email communications. You may unsubscribe by following the instructions provided in each email newsletter.

Submitting Feedback.

Using our Web site, you can ask us questions and share comments with us. Through our Feedback form, we provide you a chance to send specific questions or comments and we request, at your option, a name and email address, so that we may respond to your inquiry. All submissions through this form are treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary, and may be published or used by Adaptive RFID, without your personal information, for other purposes.

Change of Control.

Your personally identifiable information may be transferred in connection with a sale, merger, transfer, exchange or other disposition (whether of assets, stock or otherwise) of all or a portion of a business of Adaptive RFID and/or its subsidiaries. You will have the opportunity to opt out of further secondary use of your information following any change of control.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy.

If we plan to make significant changes to any of our privacy policies or practices with respect to how we use personally identifiable information, we'll post those changes to our Web site 30 days before they take effect.

Legal Disclosures.

In some cases we may be required to disclose certain information to comply with a legal process, such as a court order, subpoena, search warrant, or law enforcement request.

We give you choices about how the personally identifiable information that you provide to us may be used.

We give you the opportunity to control the use of your personal information for purposes other than to fulfill your request. We will provide you the opportunity to opt-out of secondary uses of personally identifiable information you provide us, whenever we gather it. Simply notify us during the information collection process or, when such tools exist, utilize the appropriate preferences page on our site.

We provide the opportunity for you to update or correct the personally identifiable information.

Once we begin collecting information on our site, we will provide you the opportunity to update or correct your personally identifiable information online.

We work to protect your personally identifiable information from loss, misuse, or unauthorized alteration.

We employ industry recognized security safeguards to help protect the personally identifiable information that you have provided to us from loss, misuse, or unauthorized alteration. Whenever we prompt you to transmit sensitive information, such as a credit card number, to us through our products or services, we support encryption of your data as it is transmitted to us.

We work to protect personally identifiable information stored on the site's servers from unauthorized access using industry standard computer security products, such as firewalls, as well as carefully developed security procedures and practices. All employees must review and sign a written statement of these practices, which include limiting access to sensitive information to only those employees who require such information and enforcing strict password protocols for all employees. We use both internal and external resources to review the adequacy of our security measures on a regular basis.

We provide various ways to contact us about our information practices and other aspects of privacy.

Information collected in our hosted solutions
